Pervomayskaya

An apartment for a family with a child. The task was to create a cohesive modern interior in which everyone has their own space: a shared living room with a kitchen and dining area, a calm parents' bedroom and a children's room with a place for sleeping, studying and hobbies.

The interior is built on the contrast of deep graphite and warm terracotta. The basis is textured materials: an exposed concrete ceiling, decorative plaster, porcelain stoneware imitating slate and wood. Terracotta appears in measured doses, but in every room: in the upholstered furniture, cabinet handles, textiles and art. It ties the space into a single story. Recurring devices: black track systems, doors flush with the wall, handleless fronts and warm "wood" as a counterweight to the dark palette.

About the project

The center of the zone — a modular terracotta sofa with a pouf around a round black table. Above it a pendant light of interwoven rings, and by the windows an arc floor lamp. The windows are framed by a box with concealed lighting.

The TV zone is placed on a dark wall, next to it a hidden door finished to look like concrete. A monochrome abstract piece with a horizon line balances the rich color of the furniture.

Kitchen-living room

The headboard is highlighted by a black "box" of textured plaster that extends onto the ceiling and shimmers with a metallic sheen. Against this backdrop stands a bed in terracotta velour. Opposite is a full-wall graphite storage system with terracotta handles and a niche-console with a round mirror.

Master bedroom

Children's room

A light room with graphite accents and a graphic wall painting. The workspace is assembled on a pegboard with rearrangeable shelves and an illuminated shelving unit. The window opening is framed by a wooden portal, and the windowsill works as a shelf. The sleeping spot stands by a graphite wall with a neon sign. Terracotta here appears in the pouf, textiles and decor.

The bathroom is done in slate and black plaster. A walk-in shower is set on a podium, the accent wall is laid with relief tile, and there is a niche.

Client review

We wanted a dark interior, but were afraid it would feel gloomy. In the end the apartment turned out warm and lively: the terracotta and wood do their job. Special thanks for the storage: everything is hidden, nothing gets in the way.
