The client is the owner of an event space, with her own artistic background. She needed a solution with karaoke and quality sound, but not a typical karaoke room — rather an atmospheric space where a guest could feel, for a while, like the hero of a fairy tale.
The starting point of the concept was her own painting — a girl in a chessboard blouse playing cards, acrylic on canvas. This is a collaboration where the client's visual language is translated directly into the architecture and decor of the space.
We decided to build the atmosphere not through a literal storyline, but through impressions and sensations — the inspiration was Lewis Carroll's "Alice in Wonderland." The palette is based on a rich bordeaux (in places, red) and lime green: these colors move from the walls onto the ceiling, forming a geometric pattern that holds attention and sets the dynamic of the whole space.
A separate layer of meaning is the client's painting of the girl in the chessboard blouse playing cards; the painting's heroine became the architectural accent of the entire project, and the chess motif from the canvas is repeated in the kitchen backsplash tiles, the rug and the ceramic decor, forming a unified rhythm of the interior. The blue shade from the painting and the pouf balances the brightness of the red and lime, keeping the palette from overloading the space.
Textile arches are a recurring element of the interior. Beyond their decorative role, they serve a practical purpose: they mask the doors and passages into neighboring halls, concealing unaesthetic structural elements and adding mystery and theatricality to the scene — the guest seems to pass through portals into a new part of the story.
The bordeaux sofa is designed to visually blend into the walls and, at the same time, be an accent of the room. This solution turned the lounge area into a ready-made photo spot — guests don't just sit down, they interact with the space, which removes any stiffness and sets a relaxed tone for the evening.
